AR Mini Clip-Charts and a Giveaway!

I was inspired after finding this awesome idea on Pinterest this week!  I'm always trying to think of new ways to implement Accelerated Reader in my classroom, but with limited space, keeping up with students' progress isn't the easiest thing to do.

Some clip-charts I've seen are really big and go from ceiling to floor, and most focus on AR points.  Well, my first graders read .5-1 point books all year long.  Getting 300+ points would be almost impossible! Some feel really discouraged, and that's not the point!  I am trying to create readers who love to read.  That's why AR has to be fun!

 So...when I can't find exactly what I'm looking for....
I make my own!

My clip-charts focus on "quizzes passed" rather than "points earned".  It's the way I encourage and motivate my students to read and take those AR quizzes each year!

I included a goal sheet with the clip-charts.  It's something new I want to try out this year.  My hope is that when students set their own goals, they'll be more motivated to reach them or surpass them!  Plus, it'll give me a tool to use with parents and to help encourage students to get reading!

Each quarter, I plan to have a big "AR Stars Round-Up".  This will be a celebration for those students who have met their 9 weeks goals.  We'll do popcorn, movies, sodas, or some other really fun treat!  If that's not motivation enough...right?

If you'd like to try these in your classroom, check out my TpT store or click on any image above to get your's!  Shop around because there will be more styles available by giveaway time!

I'm so excited about these...soooo....drum roll, please....
