Help Us Help Others: The Heavenly Hat Foundation

What a busy week! My students spent a busy week charting the growth of bean sprouts, using iPads and iPods, reading AR books and passing TONS of quizzes, and mastering reading center rotations during our Daily 5 time.  It was a full, productive week for all of us!

It didn't take long before these SmArTiEs were rolling dice and answering questions about their reading stories using my Rattle, Roll, and Read activities.  It was our first experience with these games, and I'm glad to announce...they were a HUGE success!

Students worked in pairs while reviewing their reading skills for this week's story and previous stories.  It was a great way to pull in students who needed "extra" help with skills from the past few weeks, while others were ready to move on to the new "stuff" for this week.

I've created 2 more activity packs this week in preparation of our upcoming stories.  They are now available in my TpT store.

These activity packs are my biggest selling items in my TpT store so far.  I've been very blessed these past few months to be able to share them with others and hear their positive feedback about the games in their classrooms.

In appreciation for my success, I'd like to announce that all proceeds from my Rattle, Roll, and Read Activity Packs for the week October 6-12 will go toward a great charity called,
The Heavenly Hats Foundation

This charity provides hats to cancer patients all around the
United States.

Schools around the country will be participating in a Heavenly Hat Parade this Friday, October 11th.  My class will participate in our school-wide Heavenly Hat Parade in support of this charity, too.  Everyone will pay $1 to wear a hat, and all proceeds collected from our students and staff will go to this great charity.

It's a great feeling knowing you are helping others, and a great way to include students in giving back to others.

Happy Teaching!
